Drive Yourself
If you have a destinated driver, you can drive about the valley yourself. This is by far the cheapest way to enjoy it, but usually cannot be possible due to everyone travelling here wanting to sample a variety of the wine.

A luxury option for those wanting to explore the region without a group, but also wanting to drink. You can hire your own driver for the day, who can come with a four-seater car or a small van depending on your group size. Although this can be an excellent option, it can be quite pricey, especially for those only travelling with a small group.

By far one of the easier ways to journey about, there is a range of Hunter Valley tours available. These tours either start right in the centre of Sydney, picking you up right from your hotel, or begin in Hunter Valley if you are already staying within the region. This is great for those unsure which wineries to visit, with the professional staff guiding you through the venues and getting you complimentary glasses and meals. However, this may not be the best for those wanting to explore independently, however, there are private tours available which will just include your group and the guide-giving you a lot more freedom and ability to alter the plans.
Bike Ride
For a truly thrilling day in the lush greenery that is Hunter Valley, why not travel on a bike? Here you can hop from one winery to the next while marvelling at the sheer beauty of the valley. Decide which wineries are for you or simply park yourself in one of the many fields or bush parts, spending your day cycling through the valley at your own speed.
